Construction
X-Series gas struts are the user-adjustable version of the S-Series stainless steel gas strut. A bleed valve enables force adjustment without dismantling. Each size is pressurised to the maximum available initial force for that range. Manufactured from AISI 316 (1.4401 - V4A) stainless steel.
Operating Conditions
Maximum permissible ambient temperature: -30°C to +80°C. Maximum service life: 30,000 load cycles (N-Series and S-Series), dependent on environmental conditions such as dust and abrasive particles. A force loss of approximately 10% can be expected over the service life.
Force & Pressure
The force is set to the customer-specified pressure ex-works and cannot be reset after delivery. For prototyping or variable-weight applications, V-Series and X-Series include a bleed valve to adjust force without dismantling. Each size is pressurised to the maximum available initial force for that range.
Test Force (P1)
The test force P1 is measured with the rod pressed in to 5 mm before the end stop, then relieved to 5 mm before total deflection. The force at this point (P1) is the published specification value.
